The Spartacus Workout was great!  It really kicked my butt…..literally.  I’m not used to working my hips and groin-ish area like that. (please no jokes)  :)  The lateral squats were crazy as well as the kettle bell swing with the dumbbell.  I can see that working this in on a normal basis will help to elevate my strength.  I don’t workout and lift with heavy weights and these variations are great.  I’m looking forward to completing this the whole way through on Saturday.  Wish me luck.

My cardio workout last night went pretty well.  My son had a melt down in the middle of it, so that kind of dropped my heart rate for a couple minutes, but I finihsed it up.  Tonight I’m going to complete The Spartacus Workout.  This looks like it should be fun.

The funny thing about this type of workout is that I treat these circuits as RT as well.  I don’t work out at a gym and I can tell you what…..doing total body circuits like this put a boat load of muscle on my body, so I don’t feel guilty for using these as my RT.  The great thing is that I get a crazy anaerobic wo

Well, this weekend was pretty terrible.   I ate garbage and didn’t really work out at all.  I had a RT in there, but it wasn’t the greatest.  I think this smoking thing is bringing me down since I stopped using the patch last week.  Maybe its just an excuse anyways.  I started contemplating using the TNT plan again, but I don’t think I really want to do that again.  I loved it and it did work for me, but I found that I wasn’t able to continue that lifestyle.  I want to get moving, no, I have to get moving and keep my eating clean.

I’m feeling pretty good.  Planning on getting in a nice RT and CT tonight after work.  Hopefully the kids will join in again.  I’m actually proud of myself.  My wife called me at work last night and asked me to pick up some Mc

Last night went pretty well.  I got in some interval sprints on my recumbent bike.  I kept my speed between 18-20 mph throughout the session.  I had a nice warm up and then sprinted as listed below. (my bike has tension settins from 0-16, 16 being the hardest) Each interval lasted one minute.

I hate this workout, but love it at the same time.  It really kicks my “you know what”.  My flexibility is back 100% already, which is a relief.  Luckily I didn’t lose it for very long and now I feel like a noodle when I wake up in the morning rather than stiff as a board.

Well, I’m feeling just about back up to par today.  I managed to get in a CT and RT on Saturday morning which took a lot out of me.  This weekend was quite strange indeed.  I think it was a combination of stress from work, being sick, lack of sleep, and craving cigarettes.

Smoking is pretty much off the map at this point as my desire has really started to diminish.  You can see in my clean eat numbers that this weekend wasn’t the best for me, but honestly, putting something less than desireable in my mouth is much better than putting something less than desireable in my lungs.  I feel that I will be able to hit it hard this week and keep moving forward.

Thanks to everyone who has posted on my blog for the support.  I will do my best to get over to your pages as well.

This whole “being sick” thing is killing me right now.  I’ve stopped smoking and started eating properly.  I feel as though I could feel 100% and have tons of energy at this point if this damn cold would go away.  My lungs are congested, my head is congested, and I didn’t work out last night because I felt like garbage.  I’m planning on a RT and CT tonight.  I need to get these in big time.

1/11/10 Day 6

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Well, I jumped on the scale this morning because I have my inner office Biggest Loser weigh in.  I came in at a lean 215.6.  I’m down about 4 lbs since last Monday.  My system seems to be cleaned out.  This illness stinks, but I got in some RT Saturday and Yoga last night, so I’m feeling pretty good.  I intended to wake up this morning @ 5:30 to lift, but I was up until 3AM last night hacking and coughing stuff up. (sorry for the visual)  At least I’m seenig progress and physically feeling better today.  Hopefully I can kick this within the next week or so.  8 days without smoking.  Yay!

Had a great workout last night.  My eating was spot on, but my appetite is horrible right now and basically non-existent.  I think its a combination of using “the patch” to quit smoking and getting over an illness.  I woke up this morning with a horrible sore throat and a relatively sore body.  I have a nice CT planned for tonight.

Oh yeah, and I took my beginning pics last night.  Yikes!!!

1/6/10 52DC Day One

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

I’m very excited to get this 52DC kicked off and can’t wait to see my results at the end.  I had a great workout last night to get me warmed up and ready to start hitting it hard.  219 is my starting weight, so I’m looking forward to hitting my 5% goal by the end of February.  I’m not going to focus on the numbers on the scale though, I’ll be focusing on hitting my clean eats and workouts.
